After visiting different places in Costa Rica, my wife and I came across the wonderful town of San Luis and we decided this is the place we want to retire to. Now we are here, enjoying a great life, surrounded by nature, beauty and appreciating the easy lifestyle. We would like to share the good life with you and offer you some wonderful homes at great prices.
Lake Arenal is located in the northern highlands of Costa Rica. At 22 miles long, it is the largest lake in Costa Rica. Although it has been compared to Lake Tahoe and Lake Lucern for beauty, there are very few boats or other water craft on the lake. And the weather is astronomically better here. Also, the lake generates about 17% of Costa Rica's electricity.
San Luis is a small town located next to the lake. It has a stable weather, with very little temperature variations across the year (between 75 and 85 degrees). This is due to two factors: fresh breezes that flow from east to west (they power windmills across Tilaran and Nuevo Arenal) and the cooling effect of the deep lake waters. With Half the rain as the other side of the lake, you cannot get better than San Luis.
The area is full of natural beauty and an amazing amount of birds. Yet all the services you could imagine are just a few minutes away, both in San Luis and Tilaran. Liberia International Airport is just 1.5 hours away. We believe you will find San Luis a very pleasurable place to live. You will be very glad you moved to San Luis!
